Hi folks, I found a circuit design on a 240Z forum and adapted it for a Taurus/Mk VIII dual speed fan. Please check it out and let me know your thoughs on it. :icon_welder:

I'll make a comment once I learn to read diagrams. I just bought a book on the subject.

Hehe, I just started with a hand drawn diagram with 3 relays and store bought controllers and spent about 2 hrs in Visio figuring out what all those little diagrams are. I know those relay diagrams are wrong, I made those up :D

If you look on the side of the relays there's usually the correct diagram. It would make things much easier to follow.

Think you might have misunderstood what I was trying to say... Visio didnt ahve a diagram for a relay. It was just a rectangle with an indicator for AC, DC, Mag, etc. That's why I indicated the terminal number on the circuit.

Everything else is the correct diagram/icon, from what I can gather.

No one else? Thought it would be more useful :) I'm going to prototype this using a Crown Vic aux power distro unit or a Bussmann RTRM fuse/relay panel. I cant seem to find what I actually want, a modular system.

Also, I'm looking for a circuit design software for automotive circuits. Everything I can find is for discrete circuits.

Wow this is pretty cool. I've been looking for something to control my fan. Question: Where does this temp switch go? On the radiator?

Here is a mod to the circuit that is needed for AC:

However, I suggest staying with the OEM mechanical fan, which will cool better, and be much more reliable.

I did the same thing with 1 temp sensor and 2 relays. high low and cycling with ac. Bypasses ac to run high if it gets too hot.

1 temp sensor
1 dual pole relay
1 single pole relay
10 gauge for the fan
16 gauge for signal wires.
modified to fit in the factory fan shroud, unless you look for it, it all looks stock.

I have 2 switches, on on/off and the other is high/low. I also run 2 relays for the high/low settings. I am running the 2 speed taurus fan.

I was told the threaded pipe sensors that actually touch coolant are much better than the ones that you poke in the radiator.

I got a painless kit, with a sensor and relay. It was pricey and knowing what I know now I would just get a relay and sensor.

With a 302 and a two core 91-94 automatic/AC Explorer radiator my single speed pusher fan barely kicks on and has no problem keeping it at 190 or below... sounds kinda like a supercharger but it works fine.
