Back before Oklahoma went full Constitutional Carry, and a permit was require to carry a firearm, the gun did not have to be registered to be carried. The rule book so stated. My father gave me a Series 70 Colt Combat Commander years ago. It was not required to be registered when he bought it. In Oklahoma at least, it's not a problem.

Can they shoot the exact same distance or rounds per second? are the "exactly" the same?
One looks like a "relic" the other looks like a modern day military grade weapon

Dressing up a pellet gun to look like an assault rifle could be dangerous to the person holding it, because if a cop rolls up, all hopped up on adrenaline and sees that, he may shoot first and ask questions later.

Actually the older one can probably shoot farther...

But they are both M1's just dressed up different. You're basing what constitutes a "military grade weapon" (which isn't even a thing since military weapons are almost always based on civilian weapons.) purely by which one looks scarier... Which is typical... The top one is a civilian weapon sold in all 50 states, the lower one is an original military issue from WW2. Both shoot the same ammo, same fire rate, same range depending on what barrel you use. Same gun, with a different paint job.

The black one has a shorter barrel, the only benefit would be you could put a scope and tripod on it to help stabilize your aim. So probably easier to be consistent.

The wood stock is probably more accurate, especially at longer distances.

My point is "appearance" is everything. If I dress up in a cop uniform and drive what looks to be a patrol car, people will assume I'm a cop. If I Drive a Humvee and wear military fatigues, people will assume I am "military". If I carry a gun that LOOKS like an assault rifle, people will assume I am "assaulting" but if I carry what looks like a hunting rifle, people assume I hunt.

I dressed up in a bunch of random camo crap for Halloween one year because the kids asked me to. I had a BDU shirt on but everything else was dollar store gear, a paintball mask with a vacuum cleaner hose attached to look like a gas mask and some other stuff I had at the house. Shit you not some guy came up to me on Halloween night and asked dead serious what branch I was serving in. People are actually that stupid.

I'm all for repealing the Gun Control Act of 1968, the NFA, and every other infringement.

Maybe you need big scary guns because you have a small penis are compensating for something missing in your life.

Well technically there is a clear distinction now - the average person cannot own full auto firearms, centerfire firearms of larger than .50 caliber, explosives/chemical/biological/nuclear weapons, etc... all things that the military has readily available.

I sure don't "need" anything I own but I will sure buy something to prove a point when someone else wants to stick their nose in my business and tell me I shouldn't have it. On the other side of that, maybe people who don't like big scary guns need a big overreaching government to compensate for something missing in their lives?
