Every 4wd F350 has a D60 solid axle, unless it's a 2wd, then it's got TIB, (twin I beam) or a solid beam if it's a Fsuperduty. Are you sure that it's a proper F350 and someone didn't just stick the badge on an F250?

That is wrong. Not all have them. 80-85 won't have them. They will normally have HD44's. TTB of course, or the occasional dana 50 TTB. If it does, it was either ordered special or been swapped in.

In an F350? Not saying I can't be wrong, but I have yet to come across a 4wd F350 without a solid axle, but F250's are a whole different ball game.

Yes, including F350's. There really aren't a lot of F350's those years anyways. Probably why you haven't seen too many. Those years are rather large rust buckets.

Yep, '80-'85 F-350 is leafsprung TTB (usually a D50). IIRC, '86 SRW is TTB too. '87 is when all were back to a D60 SA (the F-250 continued forward with TTB).

I stand fully corrected, and your def. right about the rust bucket years.....I've seen 4-5 around here that are solid axle, and had enough rust and oil etc on them it looked factory. It's a bolt in swap so it'd be harder to pick out then the SAS'd RBV's around here.

wow this is a longwinded thread:icon_confused:

Front Axle:
Dana 60-7F 77.5-79 F250s with heavy option or snowfighter package
" " F350s all

Dana 60-7F late 1985 model year -1991 kingpin style. Only in F350s
Dana 60-7F 1992-1997 model year F350 only ball joint style

Dana 60 straight cut front was available in mid 75-mid 77 crewcab only with disc brakes .

Dana 60 straight cut with drum brakes and closed knuckle 73-75 crewcab only.

hope this helps clear up all the confusion:icon_cheers:
