Hello all, this is my first post here, sorry if it's been answered before but I looked around and didn't see it (the sticky cruise control thread is pretty old and doesn't answer my specific question).

Anyway, I just got a used 07 Ranger, 3.0L. It was a prior government vehicle, so it's pretty bare bones. I want to add Cruise Control, and it looks like my best option is the Rostra kit. However, I've seen some pages saying that some of these trucks are pre-wired for cruise control and you just have to buy the factory buttons and have the dealer "turn the system on". Is there any truth to that? Or should i just buy the Rostra kit? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TRS :)

Does it have tilt steering wheel, if not then for sure not wired for cruise

Vehicles have wiring harness's for the options available on that model
So a base or Fleet model probably wouldn't have the "pre-wire" for cruise
And its not just the buttons, you also need the cruise module(brain) and actuator(hold throttle open)

Yes, go with the Kit

It does not have tilt steering wheel, so sounds like I’ll need the kit. Thanks for your help!
