Hearing that V8 roar for the first time in your Ranger may give you a surprise pop up... So will that first test drive!thanks for all the info!! i cant wait to get started!!
is there any surprises that usually pop up that i need to know??
On a more serious note, if you're going EFI the process is straightforward enough but as always check and double check your wiring before sealing it up.
Don't be surprised if your remote oil connections leak even with teflon tape. Mine leaks like a sieve and at the suggestion of many I'm gonna pull it apart and redo the connections with liquid teflon.
There are a few additional things to watch out for depending on what vehicle you pull your 5.0 out of. Not all 5.0's were created equal and as well the accessory brackets varied.
You should get the Harwood swap manual if you haven't already. It walks you through everything from finding the ideal parts to wiring if you plan on going EFI. Much of it you can't take word for word because the writer wrote it based on his newer generation '97 truck but IMO it's still required reading for any swapper.

Hope that helps.
