yeah, I DON'T LIKE GLOCKS. never have. i don't like the way they feel. sure they are a good gun. but hey, that bersa we have shoots everytime i pull the trigger. its never misfired or jammed on me. and i've put probably 250 rounds thru it. so just b/c a glock works when you pull the trigger--so does a $190 bersa we have.. lol.

glocks just don't feel right in my hand.. and i want a gun that's comfy in my hand.

i could, and i might look into that to. just leave it open as an option... my budget is only gonna go so far after axles, CCP, and then a pistol----then i need tires.. so....

that's true. i like the XD .45 myself. it's one of the only handguns i've shot that ALL my fingers git around the grip....none of that pinky under mag shit. i hate that. you cant go wrong with 14 rounds of .45 at your disposal either.

S&W .38 special. I hate semi auto, too risky to just catch the trigger on something. Very accurate and alot of knock down power for it's size. I wouldn't carry anything else other than military issue.

yeah... we have a s&w .38 special to. but the .357 is already scratched up so that's the one he carries. its nothing to have it when bush hogging or anything... its just a carry gun. its not pretty lol

Skip the Taurus. IMO. Had 2 of them 627 and 617 both went back to the factory, the cylinder locked up on both. If you are going to stake your life on something don't really worry about price But this is my opinon. I like what ruger and S&W are putting out these days. Most Europe based guns H&K, Sig, Brettea, Don't have the best CS and aftermarket parts/ Mags are a little more $$

I got my CCP about 6 months ago. When I was looking at guns I was dead set on the XD40 subcompact, so I went to the local shooting range and they will let you rent any gun they sell and shoot as many rounds as you want for $7 per 25 rounds. I shot the XD and I loved it. Then the owner let me use any conceal carry holster and get the feel of it... then I hated it. Way to bulky in my belt, IMHO. It would be fine in the winter time, but not in the summer.

The owner then showed me this gun:

The Walther PPS 40. Ambidextrous magazine release and less than an inch thick. I LOVE THIS GUN. I bought it after the same tests as the XD. My only warning would be to get yourself used the the magazine release. It is different than a "normal" style, but in my opinion with a little practice it is just as easy and faster than the "Normal" style.

Also, I didn't like the Ruger LCP380. My dad has one for his CC gun and the trigger pull is ridiculously long. Otherwise, it's a pretty good gun and very concealable.
