Hey, I have a 1998 ford ranger 4.0 with the 5 speed and 4 wheel drive. I need to put a clutch in her, something not super expensive but strong and will hold up and last when I run her a little harder. I also want to do my fly wheel and slave cylinder while I'm in there. any recommendations on what parts I should put in?

My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
Ive ran Sachs, Luk, and centerforce. The Sachs and Luk worked fine, centerforce was not so great. Flywheel should be fine, just get it resurfaced. Same with the slave cylinder, if it aint broke just swap the throwout bearing, which the new kit will have.

the problem I'm having with the slave cylinder is the clutch always feels to light even after I bleed it.

That sounds more like the pressure plate. The fingers on it are probably worn out. The new pressure plate will be way more stiff.

Bad slave would be if you had to pump it up to get the clutch to disengage, kinda like pumping bad brakes.

The Luk kit (what I got) comes with a 2 piece hydraulic line that has a shark bite fitting to connect the metal line from the master to the plastic line going into the slave. Mine started leaking after not quite 2 years. So, put some ultrablack on it, to seal it up, after you install it.
