Crossed threads are tight threads.
I enjoy life despite larger problems than this...my father isn't doing so great, my mom gets tired dealing with him.....I can still wanna find the source of a truck click....not that big a deal......checked my reverse bulbs for the hell of it, one was toast, maybe that has something to do with it
Oh I see...You needed a distraction, a tinker, a dilly dally...They get me through tough times all the time.
In that case its probably just the brake light switch or relay or something...You may be able to quiet it down with a new relay, maybe wd40 on the moving parts of the springs/levers etc down there...Dilly Dilly. Cheers.

I wonder if the click in 2009 has degraded to a solid clunk yet?

not all switches are the strong silent type, some do make noise.
crawl under the dash and check it out.
