Proper surface prep for plastidip is to wipe the dust off lol. It's infinitely less finnicky than paint as far as adhesion goes.
The heavier the coat, the better it comes out. It's self leveling, and takes a little getting used to, but you wanna lay it on real fat and wet. Spraying until riiiiiight before it starts to run is the way to do it. The more coats you do the stronger it is, and it'll peel off (when/if you want to remove it) way easier with more coats on it. With only a few coats it'll rip off in little pain in the ass pieces, lots of coats and it'll sheet off a whole panel in one piece to problem.
Wd40 removes it pretty well too I hear.
Fake carbon fiber is cheesy a.f in my opinion. Right up there with plastic spinner hubcaps. Get a couple cans of plastidip and call it good.
