I replaced the plugs on lunch today and fired it up. New plugs are definitely helping- it started much quicker and seemed to idle really smooth- especially for 5 cylinders. When I pulled the plug wire off cylinder 4, the boot end stuck to the plug and tore off. Amazon is replacing them so hopefully this is all I needed. It would explain why the timing light was acting funny when I hooked it on cylinder 4.
The counter guy at Autozone asked if I needed wires when I bought the plugs (Autolite double platinums)- must have known something I didn't!
