Well, Tuesday was my 21st birthday, Monday night a huge group of friends (mechanics and pilots) and I got together and went to the pub, had a good time. Tuesday, had to do a clutch in a Ranger, easy, easy job, and good pay out of it, and that night, a buddy took me out for dinner, and again, we had a good time. Yesterday, another group of friends (engineers) got together at another pub for wings night, and again, another good time. I haven't actually been home for any meal in the last week, and my wallet has only been getting bigger, as everyone has been buying me beer, burgers, ect, not that I was expecting it, because I wasn't, but its just nice. Today, was the best surprise I have had yet. I came into work and my boss comes up to me and says in an almost upset voice, "can I see you in my office", I'm thinking "oh shit", we sit down, and he says "it has come to my attention...*long pause, and a small smirk*...that it was your birthday a few days ago, this is from us at the shop". He handed me an envelope with a check in it, to cover the tuition fees or my SAIT class in September, for $800. I also have my "car guy" (who owns a dealership in Canmore), looking at an auction for me today as a newer (2000 and newer with lower mileage) car is going to be my birthday gift to myself, as I do not need a truck, and for what I do, a smaller car (hatchback) is perfect for what I'm needing in a vehicle. He's looking for a PT Cruiser for me, standard, and he's wanting to find me the Turbo model. We've bought cars from him in the past, and has given us super sweet deals, all this today and I haven't even had lunch yet. I'm having an awesome day! Best birthday week ever (as all my friends work odd hours, so getting everyone together is next to impossible).

Also, as a side note, the Ranger is up for sale,

You have enough money to drive down here to Missouri and I can then buy you another beer!

(Hahaha... that basically says "BROKE" if nothing else gave it away.)

Ya, thank you everyone, and I'm buying myself a car for my own birthday gift. I figured I should get something comfortable, and something where I have some room to move around in.

My first Chrysler had 250 000km on it when I sold it, and it was running fine, until it got smashed up, The Dakota I had ran decent (aside from drinking gas), and it had 275 000km, my father has a 1997 Dakota, and the only problem he has had with it, was that the starter died and the battery died. My mother has a Voyager/Caravan, and has never had a problem with it, and we had a K-car that had well over 300 000km when we sold it, it was still running. My family has had good luck with Chrysler.

Well, happy birthday again...hope it keeps getting better for you...

BTW, my uncle, who was a mechanic, wouldn't drive anything but Chryslers...he had a big old Chrysler 300 Convertible (1968 or so) that was in beautiful shape...and I drove a K-car rental all the way to Florida and back without so much as a giggle out of it...

They're OK...but I hoped you'd stick with a Ford so you can pop in once in a while...

Even if I do get a PT Loser Cruiser, I'll still stick around. I love the Ranger, but for what I want out of a truck, and what I want to spend one one, I'm going to be hard pressed to find one. For what I'm looking in a truck, I'd be looking in the $10-15 000 range, and I have $4-6000 to spend, What that gets you hear, is a half beat to hell and back beater of a truck.
