Had anyone done this? The carpet in my ranger was thrashed, got wet,so I yanked it out. Rather than find another carpet,I thought why not bedline it.
I've seen a few kits at auto parts stores,Wal Mart, etc.

Walmart had gallons of the rustoleum for around 45 bucks, while the Herculiner and other kits are going for 90 bucks.

Is the extra cash worth it? It I was lining the bed of my truck I would spring for the other kit,but the floor won't see as much abuse. I figure as long as its prepped well it should hold up fine.

I hear of a few guys doing it, but when the truck is closed up and the sun beats down on it, the thing stinks real bad for about the first year lol

We discussed this a few times on this site. Yes, you can do it and yes, it will stink to high heaven and it will be a bad smell for awhile and then it will get a bit better but never really go away with the windows closed all the time. The stuff works great outside and not inside so good....lol. I know this since I did it to my Suzuki Sammie about 4 years ago. Man.....that smell was wicked for a few months and gave me and the cats a headache after a day of trial riding on a hot rainy day with the top and windows up. If I left the top off for a week after I applied it would have been a lot better. That smell lingered for about two months and then it got better. You can still smell it just a bit if I have it closed up for about a week.

Bedliner where your feet go, it doesn't smell that bad. Then again there are all sorts of holes in it right now and the smell is the least annoying thing about having a fully caged DD....

I stripped mine out and did it with a Herculiner kit. Once it dried it never smelt inside again?

7 years ago I did that and it still looks like new. It's all in the prep.

Benny I commented on your build thread.

I think I'm going to do the footwells in the front and the area in the back. No need to do under the seats.

As for prep I've gotten all the sticky stuff up. Used a grinder for half the. Realized I could of used a putty knife to scrap up most of the rest.

I was going to sand it all down, rough it up and paint it krylon flat black. Then in the areas for bedlining I was going to rough it up using 80 grit sand paper.

Prolly going to do this In a week or two. I need to get hubs, hoping a member on here(alland) will get back to me about a set of avm's

I did the interior of a BII with Rustoleum spray on bedliner. No smell to speak of. I would have rather used a roll on type but was having difficulty find roll on bed liner in tan like I wanted to match the rest of the interior. It turned out ok looking but I wanted it a little thicker than the spray type will allow, to me it really seems like texturized thick paint instead of bed liner. I have used Herculiner roll on in the bed of my Ranger and it is much thicker.

Follow the directions on the can and it'll be fine.

Floor is mostly prepped. Ive just been busy working on my car to get around to it.

I think I'm just going to do the front area of the cab. Most
Of my gear resides in the back and Dosent see much wear.

Sprayed krylon flat black down today. Going to decide on a bed liner product tomorrow.
