I repair and maintain industrial machinery. Currently a maintenance tech in the paint shop in a BMW manufacturing plant. Also a licensed master electrician.
I willingly admit that I am not an automotive mechanic by trade.
Now I'll explain. On the 3.0l, the alternator cable threads its way across the top of the engine behind the thermostat housing, under the throttle body, behind the A/C compressor, etc. It is fastened in place several times in locations where human hands just don't fit. When I upgraded to the 130amp alternator, I did not want to disassemble the intake just to remove the old wire. So it is still there and the new larger wire is routed through the same area, just not fastened the same way. It will all get cleaned up when the engine is replaced.
I do take pride in my work. However, I also make compromises at times as long as it doesn't affect safety or functionality.
And rest assured, I was joking around up above. You can not offend me.
