I have a 1994 Ford Ranger it has a 4.0 and AA4LD transmission was built shifts too fast from first to second does anyone knowledge is or could be

Here's a thread. Apparently there is a adjustment to the modulator valve.

a4ld modulator valve adjustment?

which way to turn the set screw to shift earlier - inwards or outward (counterclockwise)?
