I was on lunch break te other day and I drove about 3 miles to a friends house and ate lunch. Halfway back to work I took off at a light and it just died. No bogging or sputtering. No CEL or oil pressure lost.

It is still getting spark. It still turns over smooth, but it isnt running. My suspicion leads me to believe its the cam sensor or crank sensor. I dont think it will die completely from a bad cam sensor though. Could it be the crank sensor? If so, how would I replace it?

You wouldn't be getting spark if crank sensor was bad.

I thought that was the cam sensor?

Yes its getting fuel. The fuel pump was replaced about a year ago and that was the first thing i checked. When that went out it bogged down and then it would restart but wouldn't stay running long

Thanks for the link. So basically the crank sensor controls spark, so I need to start with the cam sensor? Most people with cam sensor problems are reporting that it just runs rough. I have had some of those cam sensor symptoms in the past, but it didnt do anything odd and then it just quit. If the cam sensor goes completely dead will that cause a total loss of engine?

Try spraying starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it fires and maybe runs for a second or three. If so then fuel. Maybe ECU is not firing injectors if the fuel pressure is OK.
