Didn't know to put this thread.

Looking for general information on this. Let's use my 94 ranger for example. Have done research and still have not found any good information, I ask the ones who have done. Is it hard to remove the entire 89-94 dash to install another one?

How about removing the entire dash harness? For the alarm and a few audio additions to the current wire harness i have done..I would need to reuse the current wiring. Reinstall it onto the donor dash.

Again just looking for information for those who have done these

Thanks 😊

Here are pictures of a 92 dash I found for reference, it looks like alot of work.

1993-2011 Ranger bodies and beds are 2" wider than 1983-1992 bodies and beds, not sure what the fitment would be

I think he's talking about swapping to say a '95ish dashboard. I'm sure it's doable, I prefer the '89-94 dash myself but the last 6ish years with the newer dash it's growing on me, still think it sticks back to the driver like 3" more than the '89-94 dash...

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
If you’re looking to just swap in the same style dash to replace yours…

If you want to go to the newer 95+ dash, that will require a lot more. The easiest way is probably to cut out the firewall and swap in a newer one for the HVAC system.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I replaced the dash in my 93. It wasn’t a bad project. I removed the dash and left the wiring in place. Pictures in my build thread. I’ll try to put a link here when I get a chance.

I would put in another 89-94 dash, no 95+ dash.

You left the harness in the truck? It’s SO much faster to pull it as an assembly and remove it from the dash when it’s sitting on the tailgate.

Dash removal on 89-94's is like a 20 minute deal if you know where all the fasteners are. And I agree, leave the wiring attached and then remove it once it's out of the truck.

I didn't know where all the fasteners were. It still didn't seem like a bad job.
