I am not being a dick, but why spend this much time on body work for an off road truck unless it's going to be a street queen...
same reason i spent $20,000 on a used ranger to take into the bush... and why i've dumped a few grand into it since then, and it still has the stock driveline...

believe it or not, there is a large number of people who don't feel you need to beat the crap out of your truck, in order to enjoy 4x4ing... and in fact, beating the crap out of your truck, is typically a sign of someone who doesn't know how to control it properly... it's all about control and finesse, that's what shows skill... anyone can hack a body up, jack the crap out of it, put 400hp under the hood and brute force you're way through everything... try doing those same obstacles with a stock truck... i know people who can drive through anything i can, with my truck, with a stock vehicle... similarily, i know people who have massively modded vehicle, that i can walk circles around, because i know what my truck can do, and how to make it do it, they don't

My box is a wreck, no effort put into keeping it straight.

My cab/fenders however are nearly mint, one thumb sized dent in the upper can from a tree.... and that trucks been through a lot!

Nice work!

Sounds like you wasted a bunch of money if you ever want to take that truck on some real trails...

yeah, you're right, never taken the truck on real trails at all...

this shows the trail i was on, short video, none specifically of my truck, (parts of the truck in the corners of the video, i filmed the entire thing
http://youtu.be/o4gae3EL_3k

here's another that i filmed
http://youtu.be/A2Y2vIr2SHs

pulling another ranger out, the one non violent attempt, a previous attempt broke my 18,000lb strap, putting it into my tailgate
http://youtu.be/tVwIq8aQW7o

or how about this one, that again, shows not action shots of my truck, but does show off camber, and a shot of what my truck did do, i took the same line as the fj at the end
http://youtu.be/n5QR7musm18

typically i'm in the truck and not filming myself driving, these are a few clips from other people

this shows my truck crossing the river, after the red ranger got abandoned in the bush, because it was so stuck it was out there close to a week before we got it back to the owner's house

Ya serious you two bicker like an old married couple, start up your own thread and lock yourselves in there.

The flares look great man keep up the great work. I agree its better to do a lil work now and not have to have a ratty cut fender look later.:icon_thumby:

I think they look good, I like when people take the extra time to not just make something work but to make it look good at the same time... I would steel your idea but i think im guna go fiberglass on my front, and i may do this in the rear.... but i have a ton of bondo do it may get tricky....

What Backspacing do you have on those rims? And how far do the tires stick out from wheel opening?

Nooch thats a good question.. I got the wheels for dirt cheap, didn't really worry about backspacing/offset lol. (Ill get back to you on that)

The two fronts are stretched open now, also the rears are cut open wider for now until I find decent rears at a scrap yard.. For now they're just primed and painted. (I wanted to coat them with something because its cold and miserable out.) Later in the spring Ill do some bondo work to clean the fronts up. (To cold right now, Im happy for now, its drivable and turnable..)

Here's some more recent photos.

The better looking side..

Needs some hammering and bondo.

Painted Ford :D

Painted grille.

For now its passable, there will be tons of time into sanding and bondo work when the weather is nicer. It'll start bugging me sooner or later :D

Thanks for the positive feedback 4.0B2 :icon_thumby:

A lot more to come !

So awesome. It looks so much better to do it that way than what I always do.

that looks awesome, nice and clean, imo, you could have even gone a little bigger without losing that stock look, though the flare of the fender might start hitting the body line any higher... maybe a little wider? that's me being picky though... either way, it's a nice job on it! :) rep to you for the awesome work
