I was wondering if anyone has a drawing of the dash wiring out of an 86 ranger. I've got the cluster with a tach as I have a 2.9L w/5-speed, I know that makes a difference.
If no one has a drawing I have a couple of questions to ask. First is the cigaret lighter straighter wired to a fuse and if so what fuse? I have no power at the lighter and none of my fuses are burnt or missing as far as I know, I have no fuse panel drawing either it's faded to all white.
Second off my tach is intermitant at the best of times. I've found the best way to make it work is slam the dash by the windshield or pull the lights switch on and off a couple of times. It also will not go above 3k no matter what. It sticks there even after dropping rpm's till you tap the dash agian. I know this the a bad ground or a worn out wire but I don't know what wires I need to check in my dash/firewall feed through.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
