Summit racing sells a header kit for the 4.0 V6. It says it will fit my truck, but the compatibility list only goes up to '94 rangers. Mine is an '07.
Hedman Street Headers 89400 is what to look for, was curious if they fit. It doesn't look like the Y is back far enough to take into account the transfer case, but that could be a perspective thing. Any answers are much appreciated!

PS: The end flange is oddly shaped, could that pose an issue too?

Moved this to the 4.0L forum...

You have to consider 4.0L OHV vs 4.0L SOHC

What's the worst that could happen?
I put those headers on my 94 4.0 with no real struggles. Lining them up for a tight fit was kind of time consuming, but in the end they fit well.
I know you have an 07 so not sure what changed that would affect any clearance issues. Here's pic of the crossover end pipe

Do you have the SOHC?

Sorry, no...that's what I meant by "what's changed."
Mine's OHV.

Coming in second just makes you the first loser!
Those will not fit your 07. You need headers for the SOHC engine. Hear is what I put on my 07 and the fit perfect! JBA Headers I've had them on for about five years now and no issues. You can find the with the titanium finish on other sites but they are like $700!

Okay that's some good progress.

It's not a matter of it being illegal so much as it is about pollution. That being said, you're not going to find anything as far as a pre-manufacture replacement pipe. That you would have to have custom made at an exhaust shop.

Made another post about something similar and got yelled at for "breaking the law", even though it's legal here. Regardless, was just curious. Thank you!

Yeah... we don't talk about such things on here. So I edited your post.

It actually is illegal, regardless of state smog laws. Federal law mandates catalytic converters on all vehicals manufactured after 1975. No exhaust shop will risk the fines to build a delete pipe. Now you dont need to pay hundreds of dollars for one at the dealer, there are plenty of affordable options. Plus why would you go out of your way to do even more damage to the environment.
Because one of my cats is hollow anyway from the previous owner and I'm not putting money into my truck to reduce performance, and my 4.0 V6 won't dent the environment like all the jets and trains and electricity production plants and crap out there.

It still doesn't change the legality of it.
