Ok, so after seeing the thread on the 35 MTs, I clicked on the Summit link, and found that the Yoko's are about 200 cheaper than what I can get thru Tirerack. So...my question is should I go with 35s or go with the original plan of 33s.....Would I be able to fit 35s under my truck with a 6 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift? And would my 4 cylinder be able to handle the 35s if I get a 4.56 rear end?

you could easily fit 35's under 9" of lift. 4.56's however would not be enough, something more like 5.13's would be a better choice with the 4cyl.

The reason I was thinking 4.56s is that it would put me very close to the stock range according to the tire and gear chart.

most people run 4.88's with a 4.0 much less a 2.3.

You have to remember about all the extra weight and such you are adding. You will need the extra

Yeah, I'd go 5.13s. My truck has 4.10s stock and with 225s (29") it's great.

The tire to gear chart doesn't take into account the increase of weight. It says this tire is 7" taller then the other one and thats about it (something like a 35% increase in size). Your current tires with rims probably weigh about 25-30 lbs. while the 35's will weight roughly 70-75lbs. a tire. Thats over a 100% increase in weight and not to mention the extra width and road resistance of the tire your 2.3L just doesn't have the power to push all that unlike a 4.0L. I say 5.13's.

Heck I'm putting 4.56's under my truck when i get 33's.

So which would be better then....33s or 35s? I just saw the TRS shop only ships to lower 48 states...Don't think they would do APO....

With the amount of lift listed, 35s would probably look better, but it's really up to you.

Your going to be spending the same amount on gears weather you go with 4.56's or 5:13's.

And talk to Jim, he mailed my stuff up to alaska by post office for really cheap, don't know ifhe would be able to ship out of country but its worth asking.

×5 on the 5.13s. The 4cyl needs it (33s will still require you regear (4.88)... If you think you want 35s, may as well do it and go 5.13 at the same time).

I would assume an 8.8 is under there.

35s would be the max I'd put on that axle, 33s, would probably look weird, I know 35s and the same lift on my truck still look small.

With a 4cyl, it's likely a 7.5" out back. You'd need to swap that to run 4.88 or 5.13 gears if you want it to remain reasonably durable (infact I don't think 4.88 is available for a 7.5 anyway).

A Ranger 8.8" bolts right in.
