Is it possible to transfer the entire drive train assembly (transmission, front DS, rear DS) into a 2wd ranger? I know the transmission and RDS will fit but idk if it's even possible to install the FDS into a ranger

The biggest hurdle is going to be fabricating the needed mounts for the front part of the 4X4 drivetrain. I seem to remember there being s difference in the knuckles between a RWD torsion bar Ranger and a 4X4 Ranger.

You are going to need some other things from the donor vehicle as well. Off hand, the 4X4 module is one but there may be other things.

You might be able to get all the mounts and the knuckles from the donor vehicle and just move them over. You will need access to a welder.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
The front crossmember of the frame is different.

It's possible. But it's not an easy task. Much better to get a 4x4 truck if you want a 4x4 truck.
