Hi, i have a 2006 4door 4x4 4.0 auto Ranger. I have noticed that the 4 wheel drive will operate in 4 wh hi but when turned to 4 wh low the light on the dash goes out and it stays in 4 wh hi. I had a 94 and repaired the 4x4 on that one but this truck is quite different from my 94. What should i look at to repair this.

Very old post, but figured since no one originally replied I'd throw my .02 in there. First thing I would check is the Owners Manual to make sure there isn't anything special to get it into 4WD Low. With my 99 and 2007, I had to go into Neutral to get 4LO, not sure if that was the case with your 94.

If your already following that procedure (or whatever the owner's manual says), I'd think it's something with the T-Case Motor getting out of whack.
