I need new heads because of low compression, and want to know if i need new pushrods and rockers, or if i can reuse the original ones. Truck has 220k, but in otherwise great shape along with the bottom of engine.

I have the 2005 Ranger Edge and the exact same problem. There was a TSB from Ford (Ford TSB #05263) about the issues with the 2004-2006 Vulcan 3.0 heads. I have attached it for your convenience. Apparently about 30% have a manufacturing defect where the head is too soft and the exhaust valves recede into the seat. According to Ford the heads are no good and even new seats wont fix the issue. And Ford has discontinued the replacement heads as of 2020 (thanks ford). I ordered a rebuilt set from EngineTech via RockAuto (about $275 CDN each). Just in the process of installing them.

hope that helps
