2.9 a/c crank pully come off of other crank pully?

I have a major engine balance problem, and it seems the pulley for the a/c, that is no longer hooked up is bent/warped. My question is does the a/c pulley wheel come off of the regular pulley wheel that's hooked up to the hermonic balancer, and do I need the puller tool to get that one off? This is my daily driver and don't want it making other problems. P.S. the ac is no longer hooked up. I don't know if that is the problem but it seems to be. If someone could tell me how to get it off, that'll be great,Thanks in advance.

The harmonic balancer is on the crank shaft pulley, it has nothing to do with the AC at all.
A vibration under rpm under the hood in neutral could be most likely cause by the rubber dampening material on the harmonic balancer ( if you have ruled out a miss fire in the spark plugs. )

The AC compressor pulley has to be removed via a pulley removal tool. That is an EXTREMELY hard pulley to bend. Its super compact and super thick.
Are you certain its bent and that the bearings in the compressor its self are not just that badly worn ? ( which is more likely the case IMHO )

The compressor has been taken off by the preowner. The part I'm talking about is attached on the crank shaft pulley. Its the wheel that the A/C belt used to go on.

Thats the crank shaft pulley. Again though, a hard one to bend. I would say either your harmonic balancer is shot ( that is unless you can see the pulley wobble ?) or the crank shaft is bent.

I can see the pulley wobble, but only the outer pulley that the ac belt went on and the other inner pulley is perfectly straight. My question is does someone know if they come apart if so how, and do you need a puller like the one it's attached to? I would think they would come apart knowing that some didn't come with a/c as an option.

Nope. They are one unit welded together like steps. The harmonic balancer is not a part of the crank pulley. It is a separate part mounted to the crank shaft behind the crank pulley.

Ford installed with the proper grooved pulley either from the factory or the dealer when options are added after market, or after sale when the owner decides he wants AC. He just buys the correct pulley and replaces to old with the the new to fit the belt.

I would say either some one has rode up on something 4 wheeling and bent that pulley or it has been smacked in the front end hard at one time, repaired and they left the pulley.
But those are just guesses.

You'll more then likely need a puller. They can be a real pain in the ass to get off some times. Go to the bone yards 1st and find a truck with a 2.9L and AC and get the same pulley. After you get it off put the pulley on a similar sized shaft and free spin it. Or you can lay it down on a known straight and flat surface to check for warpage. Its perfectly normal to have a LITTLE wobble though. Not like a drunken sailor but a little give in either direction is normal most of the time as its not a precision part.

not true some came with a pulley for the a/c that just bolts to the crank pulley. i know because i took mine off.

Didn't know that. Never seen one either but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Could be a dealer add on component.

I know that on 2.8's and 2.9's there was the crank pulley at the bottom, and then like a central meeting pulley just above that that went to alt, and PS. Are you talking about the middle one, or the bottom one (where the harmonic balancer would be)?

I haven't looked at a 2.8/2.9 in like 2 years. At least I remebered the pulley arrangement lolol
