I have a 91 ranger 2.3 with a 5spd, great shape but that's beside the point.

So I recently decided to try selling this truck, and being a responsible owner I decided to finally scan my intermittant check engine light. Like an idiot I did this (out of necessity) on the side of the road, it flashed (I believe) either a code 898 or 998 KOER, but that's beside the point, what happened next is what's troubling.

So I went to unplug my tester and as soon as I disconnected it my engine died. Now it cranks over fantastically, but will not start, I thought I blew a fuse, but I can't find anything blown, could this be a fusible link??? What else could it be? Really need some help since I'm still trying to sell it and obviously most folks aren't interested in something non-running... anyways, thanks for any help y'all can give

Have you tried to see if you are getting a spark? Maybe unplug one of the plug wires from the block and see if you get a spark on it.
