Big change from 2009 to 2024. 2 completely different vehicles. It’s going to be tough to see the old one leave.

I know the feeling too. I ordered a 2024 Maverick last July and only had the Maverick a couple of months now and traded in my 2008 Ranger in and I bought the Ranger new in 2008 and it was so hard to let it go.

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
I loved my old Sport Trac, got it new and had it for 13 years and 200k+ but it was time.
New Ranger is literally 50% better on gas and breaks the tires loose at 35 mph when the boost spools up.

man, you got a full size truck now.

that is a nice old ranger you have. you sure you don't want to put it in the garage and keep it as a back up since you know its a solid dependable truck?

I would love to keep it, but it wouldn’t be driven much and have to sit outside.

You planning on selling it outright?

How much?

Hmmm...

What's the mileage... and is it a manual/manual?

Thast's easy to fix. Park the new truck in the garage to keep the mileage down and drive the old one. Or...

Bear with me, I think this one is a great idea...

Sell the new truck and keep the old one. Yep, that's a winner right there. :icon_thumby:

I plan on buying a new Ranger in 2025. I was considering selling my current 2002 Ranger but decided I will not be able to get much out of it with over 300K miles on it. It is still running very well, and it will not cost much to keep it. Registration is low due to age and insurance will go down because I will declare it as low annual mileage. I also have a garage to store it and will still drive it at least every couple weeks.

I can also use it on off-road trips that will be difficult and have risk of damage. That way I can reduce risk of damage to my future newer Ranger.

I already have two vintage cars that are parked much of the time and parked in a garage. I have no driving them every week or two. Might as well have another one.
