Theres too many variables that go into cutting fluid to properly describe its application lol. I will tell you that if your working with a harder material you are better off cutting dry and using compressed air for chip clearing and cooling. If your file wont cut it dont use cutting fluid.
Speaking of files, I need to replace my coarse flat bastard. I done wore my current one out.

I have my compressor upstairs in the loaf of my garage, hooked to it's own breaker to turn it on and off. I'll be eating breakfast and hear it running out in the garage. :( shit.

Blew a head gasket out of it last time I used it, second time too. Little oiled crankcase 4cfm husky jobber.

I have a couple of old 100lb propane bottles I wanted to convert into an expansion tank for the compressor so I could have a chance to run some air tools. Not I have to fix the compressor again.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
This. Watching long twirls crawl up the flutes is so satisfying...
That has a lot to do with tool sharpness and “feeds and speeds”, too. When you get the whole mess right, it works great and the tooling lasts a long time.

Well… last night I was cleaning out some emails and apparently I won a contest back in July and they were waiting for my response. Replied and apologized for missing the email and this morning they said no worries and my brand new Rope Runner Pro (climbing ascender/decender) is on its way…

You have a loaf in your garage? Rye, wheat, or whole grain?

Oh, and I’m in a couple tool auctions, got a couple old gang boxes so far, looking at a welder and a box and pan brake. Also keep looking at the 20’ Conex boxes trying to figure out how I’d get one home and looking at the farm tractors for sale…

Lead follow or get out of my way
Who borrowed my weatherpack crimpers?

I'm gonna have one more go through my tool boxes and then I'll admit defeat.

I may be in the market for a new pair... any suggestions? My old personal pair was just run of the mill pair. I turned in the good stuff when I left GM. I miss having access to pretty much everything Packard.

I have a set of Packard crimpers for the computer pins and stuff that lives in my electrical Packout set and a set of no-name ones for Weatherpack that mostly lives in my electrical bag. Both are ratcheting crimpers and I want to say both came from EBay

We crimp a bunch of stuff at work sometimes and for most of it I just use the blue handled crimpers that have 6 different dies... some are better than others even though they look the same and I've lost track... We're close to Pico so we use them for some things like that... we have some fancy crimpers at work but I'm usually too lazy to venture to the drawer... some of the ratcheting crimpers are ok (the Delphi and Deutsch ones are good), but I have a severe dislike for a lot of them I've used... for example the MSD ones suck...

Delphi's connector website sucks since they sold out and are now Amphenol, there's only about 10% of the content... one of the good things we lost in the Rona situation...

I ventured into the garage to grab something and looked at the sticker on my old Kobalt compressor, it's 5ish CFM at 90psi and 6ish cfm at 40psi is kinda weenie compared to the ancient CH at 9ish and 8ish... but I guess it makes sense at 1.6hp vs 3hp... and 120V vs 220V...

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Got myself Ryobi's nice circular saw on Tuesday and a harbor freight drill holster for work.. our home depot has been out of any and all drill holsters for what seems like years.
