It must be nice to be retired. You can just go galavanting around the country, then get home and take another day off.

Driving to Ohio, seeing family and friends, being in my daughter's wedding, and hauling stuff back and forth between Texas and Ohio has wore me out. Monday night I only got 2 hours of sleep in a rest area and woke up to a dead battery.

It's good to be home, but I need a break. I'll probably spend the day just getting my life organized. That and fixing a planter that mysteriously got knocked off my front porch while I was gone. I need one if those door bell security cameras.

As long as everything went well with the wedding, than it was all worth it.

Well the word "tux" is a synecdoche, which is a term where a part of something refers to the whole of something or vice versa

So a 2 or 3 piece dress suit can be referred to as a "tux" in general terms, especially if its black, dark grey or dark blue suit and worn with a white shirt, as pictured, looking GOOD Jim(y)

Now the whole word "tuxedo" is a type of semi-formal dress for men in the US and Canada, and came from the type of suits men were wearing at formal events in Tuxedo Park, New York in the late 1880's

But in the south of England, "tuxedo" means "shirt and jeans", lol

A tux is a pile of letters with too many consonants?

Well that clarifies things nicely... :icon_confused:

Even spellchecker is confused. :icon_twisted:

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

He didn't say Canadian Tuxedo!

There is satin on the trim of the lapels so it's "sort of" a Tuxedo. Jim may be a sexy beast but I'm still calling it a suit for the lack of more formal satin lining on the lapels, pockets and pants. Plus you don't wear a tie with a tuxedo, you wear a bowtie.

Do we need to have classes on formal dress attire?
