Not with 4 doors... why ruin a good name? Really, there's a world full of names, stop ruining the old school legacy.
It’s not that complicated. Ford has a room with all the discontinued vehicle names written on the floor. When it comes time to release a new vehicle, they let a chicken into the room. Whatever name the chicken poops on first is what they name the new vehicle.

Well that totally explains how they keep going to Raptor... discontinued bit aside.

As long as the keep the "off road" packages away from it, I like it. I don't see the sense in making"100" off road variants of the same truck like they did with the Ranger. Here's a cool rendering from Motor Trend.

If it's a pig, it's the best looking one I've ever seen.

Scratch that - I'll put the A-10 slightly ahead of it.

Not exactly what I was going for... I guess I should have said they use a goat and whatever name he doesn’t eat, they use. Right @Dirtman ?
The Maverick has a place (not necessarily in my driveway), it seems like a nice little commuter/homeowner/weekend getaway truck. It’s probably the best bang for your buck in the truck world right now.

I agree, Ford will sell Maverick Brat's as fast as they can build them. They are half the price of a Ridgeline, and almost as ugly. Folks don't really care about how ugly it is, just look at that Tesla truck.

Then no Ford vehicle would have a name...

They still make cars. The mustang and the GT... What more do you need?

They are also still doing something with the Fusion name I think but it may turn into a small SUV.

They don't have enough small SUV/crossovers? EcoSport, Escape, Bronco Sport, Edge, Explorer, and Mach-E, we will leave out the expedition and Bronco because they are not small.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
I'd still go wide for the stance, but if you need to keep corner speed then....
If it’s got the same horsepower/torque as my wife’s Bronco Sport 2.0l, it will surprise you. It’s no race car, but it should run the 1/4 in the low 15s maybe high 14s.
My old turbo outback put around 275 to the wheels and weighed mabey a touch less than the Maverick. I drove that car like a complete lunatic and had no troubles sticking with 235 wide Goodyear eagles. I forget the exact model of eagle, none of the available ones i found on Google have the same tread pattern mine did... they were probably slightly stickier than a plain Jane tire but probably not by a large margin.

Center of gravity would matter though I'm sure. The Maverick may like a sticker tire than I ran on the outback simply because it's a good bit taller.
