Gt-12

i use oil on aluminum, and cut it with wood cutting blades, but on steel you would be creating a fire hazard.this is also where a dust collector would be a problem-the stream of sparks coming off that blade carry a huge amount of heat that most dust collectors are not designed to handle.

i'm assuming that by metal cutting blade he's referring to a carborundum grinder-type blade.the carbide tipped metal cutting blades are very dangerous at the speed woodcutting equipment turns at.

Thanks for filling me in :icon_thumby:

True, but you learn the lesson so much better that way. *glances at his scars* :icon_bounceblue:

yup,it was probably me......unless it was one of those other guys with a red streched ford packing metal on the roof:D

one of my few excursions off the rock.i wasn't gone long, though.

Like who the hell else could it be...........:icon_rofl:!

You would be more likely to miss a purple Yugo with a stripper pole attached to the hood and a 48DD blonde swinging around it............:icon_surprised:

So I'm trying to start forming some ideas in my head for the future....do you prefer your horizontal bandsaw or a chop saw?

bandsaw.....no challenge on that.

bigger ones are nice, but i love my little 4x6 cutoff.once you get working with them it's amazing how versatile they are.plus, there's no sparks being shot everywhere and they are quiet.

i've owned a few chopsaws,i doubt i'll bother ever owning another.the one i had in mission before i moves up here was a nice one with a cast iron miter bed.i gave it away and brought my bandsaw up with me.
