Well, lets see
The engine burns more oil than gas.

It's running on 5 cylinders.

Almost no oil pressure.
I'm sure I could get it running better, but I'm getting the Yj anyway, might as well use the running engine.

The body, well, I plan to cut some panels off the yj to weld in, but it's pretty bad.
I'll post some more pictures tomorrow.

just swap tubs and stick a cj clip and tail gate on it:icon_thumby:

Will the Cj tailgate fit a Yj body?
That was one of my main concerns.
I wan't to keep it looking as Cj as possible.

I know the gas cap is on the side, I might be able to move it.
I'll decide when I see it I suppose.

Can I haves the old body? and stuff with it?

wait, why not just use the YJ instead of fixing the CJ?

If the YJ isn't a rusted out pile then you should just build that and forget about that CJ. Not worth it IMO.

They let you register that thing!? That looks dangerous as hell! I'll steer far away from that jeep.

Nothing about that CJ looks "dangerous." I have daily driven vehicles that look a LOT worse than that. Assuming that its drivetrain was in good condition (which it's not) I would have no problem registering that and driving it all over the place.

Maybe...
It depends on how I do it, I'll probably be using some of the Cj body, but, you can have whatever's left to it.

What do you wan't to try and do? Put it on a bronco II frame?

As for using the Yj, well, for a start, it's just a parts truck, I haven't seen it yet, but I know it's missing stuff.

I'm pretty sure there's no transmission, who knows what else is gone.

But the even bigger reason is, this is my Jeep, it's the Jeep I have been going out in since I was to young to remember.

I've got videos of my parents, me , and a few friends all out in the woods.
We usually wen't out with one other Jeep (CJ5) and a landcruiser and later on, with another Cj5.

I just don't wan't to lose this Jeep.
It's the Jeep I remember. Thats the main reason I wan't this over a Bronco II.

Oh, and besides, CJ7's are just SO much cooler than Wranglers...

I have still driven worse... my '80 F100 had a hole all the way across the floor from the door sill to the shifter. Couldn't patch it with sheets of tin fast enough.

Have you thought about getting a fiberglass CJ tub? They're not really too expensive... might end up being cheaper than fixing yours or doing the YJ tub.. lots easier too!

One thing I would definitely do if I were you is ditch the old drivetrain. You can pick up any of the Vortec Chevy motors cheap, seen a lot of people use 4.3s with great results and you can run whatever trans you want behind it. Unless you really want to stick with what you have it is kind of a waste of time to build a 258 when you can have a 5.3 that will blow it out of the water for around the same price if not less.

New bottom pan =P
I'd start taking her apart honestly, if anything breaks on its way out, it needs replaced, so it helps prevent issues too =).

Lol
I wondered how long that would get past.
Sorry, I like the Bronco II, but personally I just like Jeeps even more.
Biggest reason would be it's a convertible, even a choptop bronco ii usually has the cab around you.

So be it, but a B2 is a good vehicle.

Everybody wheels a jeep, i just get bored seeing nothing but jeeps. Doesn't mean they are a bad vehicle.

The Bronco II is a great vehicle, but it's no substitute for the real thing. (runs away to avoid the angry mob)

That is the real thing?

If that was in my yard someone would have long ago come around and asked if they could have it to scrap.

And I would have said yes.

*hands him a tube of Bondo* lets get artistic and make it pass inspection!

Thanks!
I didn't get a chance to read all of it yet, but it looks really interesting.

Lol
Getting the inspection sticker isn't what I'm worried about, trust me, I can handle that.

I still wan't the body held on with more than just rust though...
