I checked tech library - did not say what explorer seats will be a direct bolt on for an 02 ranger super cab 6 cyl = thanks

just measure your bolt holes and the bolt holes on the explorer. i just bolted in a set of 96 explorer seats in my 98 ranger.

I drilled holes and bolted my seats in but my truck is a little older and was in need of new seats and wasn't going to use bench seats.

When you say "measure the bolt patterns" what bolt pattern are you talking about.

The brkt mounting to the floor of the truck or the bolt pattern between the seat an the brkt ?

cant you just swap the seat tracks if you need too

seats onto your tracks

Hello,

When I put Explorer buckets into my 97 Ranger, I took the seat tracks off of both seats when I noticed that although the width for the mounting points for both was dead on, the Explorer ones were deeper than the mounting points in the cab. I then noticed that the explorer seats had several sets of mounting holes, (a total of eight holes) one set of which mated up perfectly with my Ranger seat tracks. So, I mated up the seats with my Ranger seat tracks and had a seamless install. The only concern was with the trim pieces around the bottom of the seat that didn't make the change (mainly because the trim was connected to the seat belts). But, since the seats were the same color gray as the interior, the seats looked like they belonged there. :icon_thumby:

I'm soon to change the explorer buckets out for a pair of racing buckets that I got for dirt cheap, so I'll see if I can grab a photo of the underside of the Explorer seat to illustrate my description.

I just put 99 exploder seats (buckets) into my 99 Ranger standard cab. Nothing bolted up easy, I had to use my old tracks which had to drill 10 rivets per track assembly to remove the brackets for the old seats. Then i had to drill 2 more holes in the bare track assembly to be able to bolt the tracks on to the new seats. The end result works and looks flawless very much worth the work. So the moral of the story is check how the seat mounts up before you buy. Good luck.

i wish the seat install in the tech section was better

You have to put the seat tracks from your current seats on the Sploder seats.

x2

all you gotta do to the explorer seats is mount your ramger tracks on them and them fit

not to steal the thread but any one know about mustang seats can you do the same thing to them or would i have top weld the tracks onto them

so what happens if you have power explorer seats? once you swap the seat tracks do you loss the power seat functions?

Seats

I bolted a set of 2001 explorer seats directly into my 97 ext cab. The console took more work, but looks great. I had a 60/40 seat prior, and buckets after.

so the seat tracks dont have anything to do with the electric motors and shit in the explorer seats

The tracks contain the directional and tilt motors. If you remove the tracks all you will have left with is the backrest lever and lumbar support.

I bought 2001 seats for my 96 reg cab and nothing matches up.
