Grabbed a decent looking console with the dash and floor bracket. After removing the seats, I laid it down on the floor and noticed because of the little ledge in the back of the cab where the bottle jack sits it was too long. So I cut the bottom part off and removed the cupholders. Now it fits, but there is still very little room to remove it if I needed to because of the floor bracket that the tabs fit into. There would be not enough room for it to slide back. I was wondering if anyone has done this and could maybe give me advice on what they did. I could probably figure it out, but if someone has done it, it would save me some time! I think the 98+ regular cabs may have been a little bit longer and it wasn’t an issue. Thanks!

I've always heard 3 inches longer.

Any way it could be re-engineered not need to slide back to come out? Maybe even some very strong magnetic mounts on that end?

Thank you for your reply. I think I have figured it out. With the console bolted to the dash, I made marks through the frame in the middle of the console. Then I remove the console and separated the shell from the frame. I put the frame back in using my marks to line it up. Then I put the floor bracket down and made marks for it also. One thing I noticed

though, was with the floor bracket in place it is not level. Without it it is level. Maybe I could just not use the floor bracket at all and attach the tabs to the floor?

When installing something that was never intended to fit, sometimes you have to add/remove brackets so yeah...
