Congratulations… you should buy a tractor to celebrate.

Tractor related today I loaded a bunch of rocks in my recently acquired rear counterweight box that has a 2" receiver while it was on the tractor before I put the pallet forks back on... then moved the pallet of kindling near the house and turned the tote of firewood to be easier to mow around.

Also of note my brother apparently purchased two more tractors... both Allis Chalmers model G, both with full cultivator setups, one running and driving and even has the crawler gear in that one at least, the other one apparently has a locked up engine and only missing the hood but the price was right and they are delivering them even... The previous owner was a mechanic at one of the local AC dealers (apparently there were two in town? no wonder my grandparents had AC's) and he had bought a couple of the tractors from my uncle to fix and flip, small world.

My son still uses Allis Chalmers. His were made in the 1940s

I have only drove one around, never really worked with one... but those G's are cool. You can see exactly what you are doing. One would be awesome if you have a garden.

I have a C which is pretty good too, the hydraulic lift system is a rinky dink thing full of check valves that runs off the transmission/rear axle oil... so any little piece of nothing screws up a check ball and bricks the system.

I need to find a hand lift rockshaft for it so I can use it for culitvating the garden. The JD B and the bigger A-C's I have are pretty bulky by comparison.

But at least their hydraulics work reliably...

My family pretty much only used AC's so my brother got some B's to try to use for that early on (way before he was ready for that) but they're not ideal since there's a bunch of tractor in the way... so then found some Farmall super A's which work good but could be better and finally found a good deal on G's to try.

With the thin torque tube visibility out the front of a B or C isn't bad, where stuff happens like with a cultivator is pretty unobstructed. C is better because with a narrow front they can run two row attachments. They kinda cheated with the big bench seat too so if you want you can sit to the side like a Farmall but keep the tractor balanced.

A-C actually sued IH over the torque tube on their A/B/Cub and got a cut of every one built.

And now Corvette uses the same theory....
