What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Used the 2011 to pick stuff up for doing oil changes for the fleet. Will get to it at first opportunity and when the ground is dry enough.

Not really anything to the Ranger, spent too much time on the F-150 today.

That said… any idea how compatible a 98 Explorer engine bay harness (the one that has the fuse box and lights and crap, not the actual engine harness) is to a 2000 Ranger? I have the whole dumb thing here and if it means I don’t have to splice wires…

i filled up the ranger on the way home yesterday. the gas light came on as soon as i started it to leave work.

i figured i could make it home, its only two miles, but there is two gas stations between the house and work so why not stop.

and i didn't win the powerball so no cool stuff happening to the truck :(

Huh, what a strange coincidence. I didn't win PowerBall either.

you are in the same boat for cool truck stuff than? ha ha ha

Got a “new-to-me” exhaust manifold, now I can get the rest of the exhaust and have a quieter truck, Ive held off due to the manifold having broke off bolts and being “rigged “ to the downpipe, couldnt find a new one and it seemed pointless to worry about the rest of the exhaust system when the manifold/downpipe joint was always going to be a leaking point. It is cool when the engine is cold and it backfires between shifts but the drone at 2400 rpm gets old after a few miles. Ive only been stopped for noise once in the last 3 years, been many other worse vehicles out there. Maybe the engine will actually run warmer with a converter and put out more heat in the winter, whats under mine now is a empty shell, good for a laugh if someone were to try and steal it though.

Well, today was mostly a rest day but I did tinker some with a couple of small things on the green Ranger. Namely I cleaned off the one front axle shaft and the one fuel rail piece and put that on. Need to figure out how to mount a hose clamp to the frame for my new fuel filter…

Zip-ties work.

Well I placed my order tonight for the rest of a new exhaust system, looks like it will be next week before it arrives. Hopefully it will still be warm enough in the garage to not need the torpedo heater. Almost $400 for it all.

2/3 of the fleet’s engine oil and filter changes are done. The 2019 will have to wait until Sunday. Then I can start picking away at brake inspections and all of the other fall preventative maintenance.

Got the harness bar fitted to the main hoop this AM. That's one more thing crossed off our "to do" list - side bars are next. Then I'll cut the tack welds on the frame mounts, drop it all down through the floor and weld everything, jack it back up and weld the frame mounts solid to the frame.

Where is the not do to your ranger forum? I've been waiting for 2 months to warranty repair my sniper for the ranger. Still haven't tested it yet, overall I'm not happy with the sniper system so far

Put in some more time working on the green Ranger. I know I got a bunch of odds and ends done today but it sure doesn’t seem like much changed. Somehow managed to miss running a tap through a bolt hole in the frame before the engine went in so I got to pull the fender liner and take care of that. Plus a bunch of rust hidden by the fender liner. Few other things done and I figured out how to mount the fuel filter.

Also finally got irritated and happened to see the price on a 5/8” tube bender was $60 on Amazon instead of $90 on eBay so that’s now coming to hopefully bend my heater lines.

There was a thread about that around here awhile ago, not sure where it went though
