Ford, the leader in poor quality and recalls, has issued a recall for the 2026 Ford Ranger.
Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 179,000 vehicles due to a defect involving the front seat frame that could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
The recall affects 62,255 2024–2026 Ford Bronco SUVs and 117,443 2024-2026 Ford Ranger pickup trucks, according to an April 28 notice published on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website.
The issue stems from a potentially loose or dislodged seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt in the front seats. If the bolt becomes dislodged, the seat may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, raising the risk of injury, the agency said.
Ford plans to mail interim notification letters to affected owners beginning May 11, informing them of the safety risk. A second round of letters will be sent once a final remedy is available, which is expected in July.
Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The company’s internal recall number is 26S30.
