1991 9" backing plates hard to find

I think the 9 inch backing plates were plentiful last I looked. The 10 backing plates were nowhere to be found.

After a quick look at a couple places... the 9 inch plates are MIA

I just tried that... no help from me at the moment.

I used a 1978 Mustang II 8" housing with 5 lug Currie axles in my 93. I was prepared to use the Mustang II 9" brakes but the 10" Ranger backing plates bolted right up. I gave the 9" plates to a guy who put them on his fox body dirt track car so he could run 13" racing wheels. Maybe check with a Mustang parts vendor.

Are you sure there 9" I did a search at car-part.com and it came back with left and right 10" backing plates

If that's addressed to me, yes, I'm sure Mustang II's had 9 inch rear brakes. As I said, I gave them to a guy for his fox body race car which was originally 10 inch brakes. My son's 84 Turbo Coupe also has 9 inch rear brakes and I'm positive early fox Mustangs and Aerostars had them, too. It was common to use Aerostar drums and 5 lug axles to get more wheel choices.
