Goodbye Old Friend

:icon_rofl:

I said nothing about people wearing leathers being retards. It's not the leather that makes you a retard, it's the ignorance and stupidity. :icon_thumby: And even if you wear a leather jacket, you're still a retard. (Not meaning you personally Koda, don't take me wrong.)

Well since yo want to throw names around and say I don't know this or that I'll respond.

here is what I know. I KNOW there are many RBV enthusiasts here. Like any enthusiast they would not throw in the towel just because something broke on their Ranger. An enthusiast would except that repairs are part of off-roading an RBV and fix the truck. The person in question is not doing that so where was I ignorant again?

The real problem I see is that for some reason a few people here find it necessary to defend this person against what they view as an attack on her, when there is no attack. It was just a factual observation.
Maybe it's because I have no issues in the lady department but I do not view a persons gender as a reason to treat them differently. I am sure if she took my answer to the previously posed question as an insult she would have responded. The thing is, TGD is smart enough to realize it was not an insult, some of you are not that fortunate.

Its her ranger she should be able to do what she wants. Hopefully we wo'nt lose a member here. If you are selling it i think you should pick up a beater for a couple bucks and use that off road.

I agree. You can buy or sell whatever vehicles you choose. I will likely sell my Ranger soon too since it just isn't living up to my expectations. I am also an owner, but not an enthusiast.

That's why. If you have money to blow on modding a Ranger you could contribute to the house. Or of course you could be a typical 17 yo girl and just leach of the parent, as it appears you are. What else are you doing with your life?

This wasn't an ignorant assumption, meant as an insult? Because a 17 year old (male or female) has a nice truck, lives with their mom, and doesn't pay "rent" means they are "leaching" off their parents? You're taking one sentence and making assumptions about how this person leads their life, and the only person who knows the real story is the person in question. Just because someone doesn't pay "rent", doesn't mean they don't contribute to the house.
And to make things clear, I could really give a **** less what anybody thinks of me, but I also tend to stand up for the "little guy". When someone asks an opinion on whether they should trade something for something else, there is no need to make personal attacks on how someone lives their life, and though you weren't the one to start it, you were quick to take skinners side when he did.

I am not going to perpetuated this arguement. You seem to want to and that is fine. The quote you put in red (I am ASSUMING you think that makes your point stronger) was taken out of context and was a response to a question that someone asked in a pissy manner. Something along the lines of "why would I" when someone else asked why not contribute to the house.

In fact it was in response to this question..
I brag about food? Why would I pay for rent, I'm only 17 and I live with my mom. I do pay for the mods, insurance and gas.

I don't live with my dad you dumbfuck, and I haven't really gotten to spend time with him in months.

Don't act like you are the only fucking person on Earth that pays for their own stuff, idiot.

And why don't you go cry to someone that cares?

So as you can see, it was still much nicer than what I was responding too. Please stop trying to play hero to the girl. It's not working and it is not helping anyone.

Anyways...

Firebird. I am not sure exactly what happen to it's side but the frame is straight so I don't care LOL. Everything is (said to be) in perfect order expect the body.

Going to go check it out for a straight trade on Sunday.

Cool. It's a stickshift. Agreed that gas and insurance are going to be a pain though. The 5.7 is a hell of a motor but also if you think an RBV engine is a pain to work on then try digging your hands into one of those. Friend of mine had a late model Camaro with the 5.7, essentially the same car, good god you couldn't hardly get a wrench in there at all, everything had to be done from underneath on a lift.

Fun car though. Not bad highway mileage and FAST.

Good luck tuning that thing up. Spark plugs and wires are REALLY fun on that car.

It looks good though, plus it's a 5 speed. Pretty nice. While I would personally never get one after having working on plenty of them, have fun with it.

Those are pictures from April. Probably has had a few more DUIs in it by now.

Don't buy that piece of trash. Try to be happy.

It's a 6speed.
Already has new spark plugs and wires.

I am taking it to the body shop to make sure the frame is straight.

Katie, those are uni-body cars. I'm not sure if that makes a difference as it's been at least 4 years since I've seen the underside of one, but there really isn't much 'frame' to them in that area. Most people install frame-ties that connect the front K-member to the rear subframe in high hp cars.

Honestly I'd steer clear, especially seeing that you are trying to trade.... Find a Subaru WRX, that'd be a worthwhile trade!
