I've tried to come up with a name that would go with a Maverick theme but couldn't come up with anything.

'Saloon' might turn some people off.

Wait.... You mean people have an on/off switch? I wonder what happens when the switch is turned off?

It seems my wife is pretty set on having one. I thought I would have a harder time selling it to her... but she really like the idea of it. It will really fit her needs for a work vehicle. She absolutely loves the idea being able to move equipment and supplies between 20 different locations. An XL hybrid with floor liners and a full size spare. Can't get much more bare bones...

Just waiting for a couple emails so I can pick a dealer... the B&P is all filled out just need to hit submit.

Don't tell her I'm probably as excited as she is.

Oh these hybdrid engines, is the gas engine actually powerful enough to drive normally and do truck stuff or is it just a weak little piece of crap that pretty much just charges the batteries?

It's a 2.5L... 191hp 155lbft of torque.

The 2.0L is 250hp and 277ftlbs of torque.

She wants the hybrid...

They don't make the 2.3 duratech anymore...

So they offer it with the 2.0 Ecoboost or a 2.5 hybrid

Those power numbers on the 2.5 sound supsiciously similar to the 2.5 duratec... Which is just a 2.3 with a stroke so take that @85_Ranger4x4 !!!

As far as I know the Maverick is a Series Hybrid so gas engine is not connected to drive wheels, so just a generator

But in a Brochure its says its a "PowerSplit: Electronic continuously variable transmission", seen here: https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/product/2022/maverick/pdf/2022-Ford-Maverick-Technical-Specifications.pdf
Which would make it a series-parallel Hybrid, powertrain would look something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_vehicle_drivetrain#/media/File:Hybridcombined.svg

Maverick has no Plug in to charge batteries, so it charges by gasoline burning only which may limit buyers

Found this Maverick forum in my travels: https://www.maverickchat.com/

I did some looking too, ford rates the HP and torque as "combined" i.e both gas engine and electric motor together so they must both be connected to the wheels or rating it that way wouldn't make much sense?

That also means the electric motor doesn't do alot since it's pretty weak at roughly 30HP?

I'm still digging into this... while trying to find all my stuff.

Personally... I would just do the 2.0L. My daughter has a Prius... and loves it. So now momma wants the Hybrid and the near 40mpg's that go with it.

40? Jeesh my fiesta gets 42 without being a hybrid. :icon_rofl:
