More terminology

About bald eagles? Forget that. They're disgusting creatures.

Actually on an older Ford the solenoid is on the fender and it sends power to energize the field coils which pull a metal weight down and forces the starter drive out so it meshes with the ring gear. Old guys(older than me) will often call the starter drive a bendix. They both drive the ring gear but they're far from the same thing, a bendix is spinning when it hits the gear and a starter drive engages the gear before the starter spins.
The way I learned it, and not thru regular channels, a "bendix" is what you find on a chev starter and the ford equivelant is the "over running clutch drive".

You...... European.

I only ever see them eating roadkill. I have yet to see one gracefully swoop down and grab a fish.

Basically vultures with fancy paint jobs?

Lots of different names, the improved ones I sell for older Delco starters is a ratcheting model called “Posi-Torque”

Dude they're what's left of the freaking dinosaurs what do you want?

K. Point State Park. 19:00 today.

I'll be in the bear suit.

I have seen a Bald eagle swoop down, catch a fish, took it to a sand bar and startted ripping the fish with its beak. I was with the fam at St. George Island. It totally freaked the wife out. I thought it was some NatGeo shit happening right in front of us.

I think it's Chickens that are closest to whats left of the dinosaurs.

It was. I don't enjoy watching people or animals die. But that was the pure natural way things are designed to happen.

Your absolutely right...
Picture of fried dinosaur and fried chicken. Look identical...

A bendix was an early starter drive design, no one has used it for a long time=probably since the very early 60's. The bendix gear is already spinning when it hits the flywheel ring gear. It causes a lot more wear and it makes the "crash" sound you hear right before a flathead starts. It was pretty crude except when you compare it to a hand crank.

You’re what’s left of a dinosaur.

Fight me!

See... 2 can play you’re dumb game.

I beg to differ. It appears that "car" is what's left of dinosaurs.
