What did YOU do today?

Changed the oil on the 2018 mazda3. that thing runs so good and its about to flip 60k miles. i put new tires on it a few weeks back and it made the road noise a lot quieter. i also found out the dealership we got it from had put hte wrong size on when they sold it to us so maybe that didn't help either

Depending on your use case, sometimes the "wrong size" can be better.

Brittney's car is much better handling and only took a minor hit to mpg when we went from 195/65R15 low rolling resistance run flats to standard 205/60R15. It hold the road well enough now that she scares me on back roads.

Yes, for sure but they went thinner and shorter sidewall instead of wider

Got the dash painted & gages installed on the 8N.

2 (+/-) coats of Raptor on, pretty satisfied. I accidently ordered 4 quarts of Low VOC and 4 quarts of regular, 2 quarts is one coat, U-Pol said to shoot one type and let it harden before using the other. I may be done or I may shoot another coat on the sides & bottom, we'll see. Pretty happy right now though.

Didn't even get any on my hootus.

Drove up to wimberly texas. What an awesome town. Bluehole park and mt baldy are in this tiny town, plus the river. I had never even heard of this place till recently but we might come back here regularly

After I got home from work I went out to the shop and started slowly cleaning since it is/was a complete disaster from the last years worth of projects... I of course didn't get a whole lot done but it's a start... I found at least a square foot of flat spot, maybe two on two different surfaces...

More tractor work today. Im not sure that ready -made wiring harnesses are worth it. Lengths not quite right, one end wrong size. When I build my own I do one wire at a time, it was kind of confusing to me having all these wires. And of course no instructions. Alternator kit was the same way, had to look up a video to figure out one of the brackets. The oil cup for the air cleaner had a pinhole in it so Im waiting on the jb weld to set up, then hit it with some paint.

This was the steps to the top of mt baldy, looking back down them though

Spent the day with Ann renewing her concealed carry. 4-hour class and a 100 rounds on the indoor range. I got to window shop in the store getting my sweaty palms all over a bunch of different firearms. Did not get to buy any though. Williams Gun Site in Davison, MI. Nice place.

Not exactly the plan for the day but it was on the list... was a burn day so took advantage of that to get rid of some termite wood I found while cutting trees in the back 40 a couple weeks ago... finished pulling that tree over and cutting it up then burnt what was questionable. While at it I made 3 trips with the '97 Ranger taking other branches from cutting a couple ash trees and some willow of some form that fell over years ago. For a lot of the wood relocation the tractor was used but for the branches the Ranger was used... the 2wd is nice being low.

My new to me Echo chainsaw ran great today, the chain is now dull though, might sharpen it tonight, or not...

I now have about 75% of the firewood I need for the winter... I have sources for the rest, like everything it's just effort and such...

Today went with mom out to the hunting lease. She wanted to go and clean dad's stuff out of the hunting camper, but hadn't been ready to do it yet. I wasn't too worried about moving it, stuff wasn't hurting anything, but she wanted to do it. But I did need to get it cleaned out for the season anyway, so good chance to do both.

Tried to start up his ATV to go clean up some trails back to stands, that thing is not happy. He was having a fuel leak issue, but from the way it acted today, that wasn't the only problem. Would not start and wouldn't stay running when it did. Going to have to bring it home and go through the carb and ignition, make sure nothing has started chewing on the wiring. Unfortunately mine is currently at home getting a winch and some other stuff installed, so wasn't able to get any of the trail cleaning done. I'll have mine back together in a week or so (waiting on a couple parts) and swap them out. Hopefully next weekend and since the season starts the following.

Im thinking of putting the ball end into my receiver hitch & using a floor jack on the other end. I have a hyd press but id need stacks of blocks on either side. Dont really want to go after block right now.

I know nothing about tractor radius arms, but I wonder if they could be straightened like the old TIB suspensions were adjusted for camber. On the early TIBs they didn't haver camber adjustment cams, they actually bent the beam. From what I understand they still do the same on some heavy duty trucks and semis that use that style suspension. If these can be bent the same, you might search out a shop that specializes in those bigger trucks and see if they can straighten the arms for you.

Holy cow, dealing with wood all day made me sore... jumping on and off the tractor a hundred times then loading the ranger 3 or 4 times with limbs that weren't light didn't help either... then there's the manual wood splitting too... when I was mowing the areas I pulled trees from last night I found a branch that's just high enough to grab the brush hog so I need to go grab that today before I forget...
