Sounds about the same to me for going to the badlands, I need to put new bushings on my front end, new rotors, brakes, etc... whole nine yards mechanical wise on the suspension and whatnot before having some real fun with the truck.

Good news. Got the ok from my lovely wife to get the truck fixed. Taking the money from her savings. She doesn't want me to buy another vehicle to just have it sitting around. the brakes and backing plates are the only difference. both 31 spline with a 3.25" tube

They're ALL 7/8". Only ones that were 3/4" were the early ones in the F150's.

that's a good question, my drum 8.8 came with an open diff and my disc 8.8 came with a L/S so i dont really recall. i'm pretty sure they were both 3/4" pins.

EDIT-brink may be right there, i have my open carrier apart on the kitchen table, if only i were there
