I am about to the point of parking the truck and finding something cheap to drive until I get everything fixed. I am having problems with the rear axle, transfer case, transmission, and front axle. Basically everything listed needs seals or bearings.

The axle shaft bearings are gone, noticed the other day that there was alot of play, able to move rear tire up and down. So, I think it is just time to upgrade to either a 8.8 31spline or bigger. The d30 pinion yoke is leaking again, this is the 3rd seal to replace. Going to get a new yoke. Transmission bearings are so noisy now that they chatter all the time. So another rebuild is needed, this time replace all bearings and synchros. The transfer case is leaking so much oil, that every 1000 miles it needs another quart. So either look for a 1354E or try to wire up a 1354E.
The engine has 200k miles now so replace it, rebuild it, or just new seals and bearings?

I think my wheeling days are done for this year.

EDIT: front driveshaft is bent so I want to get a new one made from Tom Woods
 
And.... forgot about the steering box pitman shaft being bent and leaking like crazy. It's been out of fluid for a couple weeks....driving with manual steering really sucks

You can get 20mpg on a carb setup and more then that on a FI setup. Your doing around 13mpg with your current setup from what you last said to me, I can't see a FI 5.0 doing worse in your truck.

Last time I checked it, I was getting 19mpg. I did some minor tuneup a few months ago.

Too bad you are so far away. I have a 28 spline axle that I could give you just to get it out of my way.

That's cool. I think I just need to upgrade to an explorer so that way I have disc brakes.

Im going to be tossing an 8.8 28 spline under my truck after the swap along with replacing other parts on the front axle and whatnot.
