Narrowed D60 front axle and Sterling 10.25 rear axle builds

looking sharp. For some reason Sterling 10.25's just look at home under a Ranger dont they :D

It's because the sterling axle is an 80% concentration of awesome, 10% concentration of ford, and 5% concentration of each Gwaii and Chuck Norris piss

Sterling is mocked up underneath the back with the new 5.5" ProComp chevy leafs and Teraflex XJ shackles. Need to set pinion angle and make sure the axle is centered up.

that thing looks really good:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

How much bigger are the teraflex xj shackles? Also with the Chevy springs, are your spring hangers in the stock position? How much lift did the combo of the 2 give you?

Whoops....guess I never saw this.

The Teraflex shackles a ton beefier than any Belltech/ parts store shackle.

They are 6.5" eye to eye if I remember correctly.

I had already moved the front spring hangers 6" forward as I ran stock chevy springs before with a belltech shackle and stock 4x4 block.

I am now running 5.5" lift 63" chevy springs, teraflex extended shackle and no more blocks.

As for the amount of actual lift...no idea really...Would need to take some measurements off a stock ranger to compare.

Also an update. Both axles have gears and lockers installed. Front shafts are assembled. Need to assemble the front end and pack the bearings. Waiting for front calipers and brake hoses to come in.

Waiting on all parts needed to rebuild the rear drums, then the hub seals can get installed and shafts go in.

Installed a 1310 pinion yoke on the front D60, front shaft in stock form bolts right up.

Need to shorten the rear shaft and get a 1310/1350 conversion joint to mate up to the sterling.

Need to run all brake lines.

Need to order BII fuel tank and make it fit at the back of the truck and lengthen fuel lines.

Getting there.....

Sounds like its coming along. You might want to keep a couple of those spare 1310/1350 joints on hand, or upgrade to full 1350... You got a pic of those teraflex shackles and a price? Sounds interesting...

Think they were around $90?

I have to shorten the rear drive shaft so I might just get a 1350 end put on it. We will see, would rather not run goofy conversion U joints.

I know what you mean with that I'm running a 1310/1330 conversion in the front. I swaped the D60 yoke on mine to a 1330 to match the ranger driveshaft.

Yea that is why I bought the 1310 Yoke for my front d60. Stock shaft bolted right up.

One of these days ill go 1350 all around anyway so its not terrible the good news is its a pretty inexpensive joint.

Getting closer....Just plugging away at it most nites trying to get this thing done before August 4th for our big annual club run.

Front end is nearly done....just bumps, limit straps and final weld my steering and track bar.

New master installed....its off a 94 Fsuperduty pickup....1 5/16" bore. Had to oblong the mounting holes just a touch to get it to bolt up to the ranger booster. Should do the trick for stopping. We had it at work and they were gonna chuck it in the dumpster so I disposed of it for them...

I love the "f-superduty" badges, kinda like a "how big is this truck? F-it, the big one..."
