This thingy made me laugh

that looks perfectly safe. i bet they come with this warning "Warning: Not for highway use." plus that takes the fun out of having the front end hop.

wow....just wow....:idiot:

I don't know what to think about that.

It's sort of doing what a equalizer hitch does. But it doesn't have brakes on it. So if you have 1,500# loaded on that thing out of a 10,000# total load, you still have 10,000# of load to stop and 1,500# of traction weight missing when you do it.

Besides that, I don't see much bad about it really. It just seems half-assed.

I'm not getting one.

So you know those parking lot entrances where its possible to scrape your hitch on the ground?

What happens when you go there with one of those?

Might be better actually--just let the wheels keep it from scraping. Some RVs have those. I've had the ball plucked out of the socket before when the trailer bottomed--which I why I use a pintle/lunette now.

seems like it should work, but seems like a bit of a band-aid.

will, i wouldnt think there would be a noticeable effect on braking since weight shift will remove most of the weight from the wheel under braking anyway.

I know what will happen... Your back wheels will lose contact with the ground and your overloaded truck will now be stuck halfway in the intersection wheels spinning like mad.

If your lucky your driving a 4WD.

Good point.

But it won't unload very much. It's still an unbraked axle.

like when you were little and the training wheels on your bike would hold the rear tire off the ground....i always hated that
