Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Didn't have a choice on location, if i have to get different ones I will but I think these won't be too bad. Hope it won't be too long till I can find out.

I'm really liking the look of that thing, Kyle, keep up the good work!

Thanks!

I am planning on shortening the bed another foot, maybe just use bed sides and revise the rear shackles and hangers so I can shorten the frame. Gonna start that project next.

I'm a little behind on the build thread but sorry to hear about the mustang. Your truck is looking good. What kind of wheel flares are you using?

Clint

I planned on shortening my bed to a total of around 40 inches, basically just before and after the wheel wells, for better wheelbase and departure angle....Looks like you have the same idea, but I know you will get yours done before mine...I'm stuck in Utah for school right now....

For now, I think so. It was a pain to work around so I cut it off. I will do something latest on when I cage it up, but I am kinda digging the clean look.

Small update....

Uh-oh....

I cut 10" off my frame, then made a new crossmember with a hitch in it. Then I made some shackles 7.5" today, put some hangers on the new crossmember and welded it all together.

Much better

I also made my front drive shaft today and picked up a new master cylinder (not sure it will work yet)

It probably won't be til the summertime when I do the new frame. I'm not going to be back home til after the first of the year at the earliest...

That was quick. lol. Looks good man.

Fuel cell in.

I made a sub frame to hold the cell on my frame, then I skinned it with some 1/8" flat sheet to act as a skid.

Then I used some foam tape to protect the cell from rubbing

Then I mounted the cell with a couple straps I made with foam under them to guard fron rubbing

After that I started on my rear driveshaft. I also found out the 96 f350 master cylinder is a direct swap minus push rod adjustments. I installed my air shocks after charging them so the front is done.

Getting close
