2.3L ('83-'97) MAF Sensor Screws

Went to clean the MAF sensor on a 97 2.3 and found that one screw is a T20 tamper resistant screw, No problem as I have a set at work.. What in the world is the other screw. ? It's just a plain head with nothing there. I took my pocket knife and ran the blade across the top and it seems to be made from plastic. Is it a T20 filled in with plastic or what ? I figured I would ask first as I'm pretty good at messing stuff up. Thanks.

I would just spray the MAF with MAF cleaner spray from where you can see it, I've done it to mine ('97 2.3) and it helped... I just undid the hose at the air cleaner...

I've seen screws with plastic plugs in them. I've seen rivets. An common on small engine for tamper resistance is screws with heads that snap off clean on installation. I end up cutting a slot in those with a cut-off wheel on the grinder. Then replace them with something from the hardware store...

It's probably the same tamper torx but with baked in dirt and grime.

Seen that a couple times, one had a little plastic plug shoved into the head of the screw and another had a plastic cap over the whole top of the screw. Others have had the heads partially filled in with pink paint. Have to be creative to remove them.
