Hella or kc?

I really liked my hella 700FF's when I had them.

The difference between FF and non-FF Hellas is that the FF's use a reflector to make the light pattern, while the non-FF ones use the lense itself. When you compare the two types side by side, the FF lense is crystal clear, while the non-FF one has hashmarks like older headlights to direct the light.

I much prefer the FF style, and I believe it to give a much crisper pattern.

Now I have a 10" LED bar, and I love it better that the 700 :thefinger:

Thanks for explainin that. Didnt know what the difference was. Wish I had the money to drop on a led bar...

I know they look different, my F-150 has the 500ff's and the Ranger has the regular 500's.

It seems like at about 1/4 mile out they both nicely fill the road fence to fence. Hard to be picky about the pattern at that range.

its hard to show how good lights really do in a distance w/ a camera. i think the best thing you can do is point towards a barn or something at a certain distance, not to close, not to far-- and do the same set of pics again..

yea ill try that tonight.

EDIT: forgot i took these last night driving home! maybe these are a bit better.

the shoot about 600 or 700 feet up atleast. i could never out drive my lights. also, i keep them pointed so high, so when i come down a hill the dont point into the ground.

Those are pretty bright i like them. Unfortunately, I can't find a site for those lights but, I found these...

Those won't be near as bright I'm sure... I'm still looking for those lights somewhere. I'm looking for a pair of good lights that don't cost a fortune. I might just get that $70 HID Kit and put them in my hella's.

How do you like those hellas. And I might just get those but if I get the ffs would I still have to put the hid kit in it?

i hate my hella's... idk what they are. just cheap hella's they were gave to me when i traded roof racks w/ a guy. but w/ my LMC not sealed beam headlights on, i can barely tell my hella's are on... that's why i'm looking for something better

i'm sure that there are better hella's out there, but the ones i have i'm not happy with. they are a spot beam. idk, just not useful at all... i want an led bar, BUT....... i'm to poor. i don't have all that money like legoms lol

Lol I know lucky bastard! I want a light that lights up everything.lol. But I dont know if thats teally possible.

Not that great for offroading, but I love them for spotting deer before they are in striking range if nobody else is around.

Mine greatly extend the range of my headlights in both my trucks. My '02 F-150 has pretty decent headlights, the Hellas reach out at least twice as far (as viewed from the seat)

I guess if I aimed mine that high, they might extend the reach. But when my headlights are on high I can see pretty good as is

Same here, but when I am bouncing down gravel roads in the dark of the night it is nice to be able to see eyes a couple hills over. I have them aimed so they pick up right at the edge of the high beam and they go out from there.

My lights are good enough on both trucks that piling more beams on top of them won't accomplish anything.
