cold air intake???

I have a 94 ranger with the 3.0l. i've heard of those cold air intakes. r they any good? i know basically nothing about them. ill take any info i can get. like...hp? does it ware the engine down? will it fit? pics r great but info is loved :shok:

Most all vehicles come from the factory with "cold air" intakes. They take cooler air from outside the engine compartment. Aftermarket pieces alone do very little as far as engine performance/economy, but add greatly to the "gee whiz" factor, and are good for "pissing contests" depending on the style. shady

Those are still useless on Ranger engines.
