Duff has good stuff though. You might talk to DIGGER on RMFTC and see what he would charge you. He made Thumpers(Warrlord). I know my Duff winch bumper is tough, but I got it before the price of steel went through the roof......

I used a Warn bumper for a Scout II on my 89 BII. The brackets were easy to fab and it fits pretty good. You might find one of them in the boneyard.

I built my own winch bumper, and the steel alone was $200. I'm sure that if I went with something a little bit thinner and if I dug around the remnants pile, I could have saved a little, but most likely you are still looking at $100. $475 really isn't that bad, and honestly for the time that I put into my bumper, I would have been further ahead buying one.
